DO GOOD ON THE SABBATHDAY

Many of us worship in different ways when it comes to the Sabbath day. Some people refused to work some work. Take for example with Jesus in Luke 6 when the scribes and Pharisees watched Jesus on the Sabbath day if he would work. Jesus knew he had a job to do, and he knew the thoughts of his enemies that they were just waiting to accuse him about breaking the Sabbath. Moreover, he did not allow their beliefs to stop him from healing the man who had a withered hand; he healed him on the Sabbath Day. In verse nine of St Luke 6 I like the question that Jesus asked his enemies, “Is it lawful for the Sabbath days to do good , or to do evil? To save life, or to destroy it?  After he asked those questions, he asked the man with the withered hand to straight it forth and he was healed. This is the God whom we served- a God of justice, truth, and plentiful in mercy. Jesus is telling us that it is worthy to do good on the Sabbath day regardless of how other people thinks. Acknowledge in verse 11 that after Jesus had healed the man they were mad. Notwithstanding Jesus did not care because he knew he had a job to do and he did it. In verse 12, we found out that after the enemies attacked Jesus for the good he had done –he went way to the mountain in a quiet place to pray. The bible stated that he prayed all night in prayer to God. We all should understand that doing good plays a good deal in the eyes of God. He asked his disciples to do good, that goes for us too…  God bless all of you in Jesus Day. Remember to do good continuously. In not the Sabbath alone that is important, is what you do on the Sabbath day.
God bless all of you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus teaches his disciples to do good. These are some of his teachings;as follows:

20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.( Luke 6: 20-23 KJV)

Notice that everything about Jesus was mercy and truth and justice and light. Jesus loves everyone regardless of color, poverty or riches. We too can do the same. Speak to your heart every second about loving someone and believe me you will find your self just like our Lord Jesus, loving, forgiving and kind.

One songwriter said, " O what a friend we have in Jesus all our sins and grief to bear, what a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer" Jesus was not a person in the flesh that causes trouble, he came to teach us to love one another. He knows that love covers every darkness-dark waters, dark Vallie and all evil thoughts. My friends, live by the word of God and lean not to your own understanding it will not work.

You know I have been through some dark valleys and Jesus walked them with me. There were moments when I had been prosecuted by families and friends that I felt like taking my own life, but I keep-on hearing this silent and loving voice, don't take your life because you cannot create life. Do not be afraid, I am with you, I will never leave you alone to suffer." Those words kept me alive. I have been through the valley of shadow of death my friends, but the Lord walked those journey with me. He can do the same for you. I reached the stage of frustration when my siblings wants to get me down the collaborated together and told me that we do not carry the same surname- I am a Bastard. Come on, how would you feel about that? Still I continue to trust in the Lord, he is my rock and my fortress in him alone I trust and laid my burdens. I keep on falling down and getting up. You know with all the prosecutions I received from my siblings that I helped from the slums to wealth, I thank God that I am not guilty of any. My heart and my hands are clean toward them. THANK GOD FOR HIS LOVE AND MERCY TOWARD ME IN A TIME LIKE THIS.
This is why I love the Lord, he taught me to love and doing good to everyone. To me it is very good when you are good and people speaks evil of you. It gives me strength.

In fact Jesus says these words,
"Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! For so did their fathers to the false prophets" ( Luke 6:26). He continues in the following verses teaching us how to live:

Luke 6:27-38

27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.
30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
If we truly follows the teaching of Jesus Christ we would be good peoples. My friends hold unto your victory in the Lord Jesus. Do good always and your reward is with the Lord, you will receive it at the end of your life.
