CONNECTING WITH TREATING DEMENTIA WITH EMPATHY

CONNECTING WITH TREATING DEMENTIA WITH EMPATHY
More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, with the direct costs of their care in 2012 totaling $200 billion, including $140 billion in costs to Medicare and Medicaid, according to the Alzheimer’s Association. The burden of care to family and formal caregivers is equally troubling: 90 percent of people with dementia will hit, scream, become verbally abusive, or resist care at some point.- See more at: http://www.jhartfound.org/blog/tools-you-can-use-a-non-pharmacologic-toolkit-for-addressing-behavioral-and-psychological-symptoms-of-dementia/?gclid=CNqa6tDT_L8CFQaCMgod6VYA-Q#sthash.sfsDOpLx.dpuf
It is very hard to work with someone who has Dementia if you do not have patience and empathy. I have encounter someone in my family who has Dementia and it is not easy to see your blood suffering like this or other people who has the same disease. There are moments when they are so impaired, it brings tears to your eyes. I believe prayer is very essential in a time like this for everyone who are suffering from this destructive disease. I find it necessary to pray for them-because God alone holds the answer to their suffering. He has the power to deliver them if we pray for them sincerely from a clean heart.
God bless each and everyone of you who are living healthy.-CONNECTING WITH TREATING DEMENTIA WITH EMPATHY.
