Many young people are suffering from drug
addiction- “Drug Overdose”
The topic we are going to read and
examine and discuss today is about a young woman named Therese who died from
drug overdose in a hospital. Which separate her from her family and friends? Drugs
are destructive and it leads some people to an early grave. In addition we will mention briefly about
Nichol Smith who died of drug overdose. We will argue and balance our argument
with support from the Second Person, present Tense, written by Daryl
Gregory. Published by Carlson West
Writers shop.
According to Gregory, Therese was admitted into a hospital
from a drug overdose which leads to her death.
And it left her family and friends to be going to the hospital searching
for her for several weeks. For example,
the family, Mitch, and Alice Klass shows
that drugs are destructive and it kills innocent people sometimes. They felt
the lost and separation of Therese; the writer describes the love they had for
Therese, “They loved her, they watched out for her every step. It was like a hundred overprotective
parents. Therese was wild?” (p. 4 of 20). Reading and examine the story of
Therese dying from drug overdose, It
brings my mind back to the year of 2006 when Nichol Smith the actress died of
drug overdose in Nassau Bahamas at an early age of 39. (CNN 2006). In conclusion, drug is destructive; Therese
would be alive today if drugs did not bring her to an early grave. Her family and friends would be happy if she
was alive.
Choose God not drugs. Drugs is destructive, it juices the
mind like a juice machine juicing fruits. If you really care for your life,
stay away from drugs. Do not be like Therese. God loves and keep you in the
name of Jesus.
